etallica,
one
of the greatest
heavymetal bands
the world has ever
seen was formed
on Oct 1, 1981.
It was originally
created by drummer, Lars Ulrich and
guitarist and vocalist, James Hetfield,
exactly 32 years ago.
The group, has now become one of
the most influential and commercially
successful rock bands in history, having
sold over 110 million albums worldwide
and still playing to millions of fans the
world over.
Supported by Malaysia Major
Events (MME), a division of Malaysia
Convention & Exhibition Bureau
(MyCEB) and coinciding with the start
of the promotional campaign of Visit
Malaysia Year 2014, this is the very first
time the legends of heavy metal have
reached our shores. Their performance
at Stadium Merdeka on Aug 21, earmarks
a watershed of events to follow in
Malaysia, which will truly encourage
the country as a destination for major
events.
When it comes to performing the
world over, there are few bands that
deliver the way Metallica does. Their
shows, which began in small clubs and
garages in the early eighties, are still very
popular throughout the world today.
Many of their diehard fans find
Metallica’s performances to be among
the most intense, powerful and visually
stimulating concert experiences they
have ever had.
The opportunity to catch them live
in Malaysia for the very first time is an
awe-inspiring experience that I can never
forget. They stay entrenched in my mind
