was a momentous day
at the Malaysia Airlines
Academy in Kuala Lumpur
as Firefly held its first cabin
crew graduation ceremony
from the airline’s intensive
training course on June 25.
The all-female, all-Malaysian crewwere chosen for recruitment
after impressing Firefly’s recruitment officers during our careful
selection process.
A total of 21 Firefly cabin crew spent 10 weeks undergoing
intensive training and assessment at theMalaysia Airlines Academy
in Kuala Lumpur. The graduates were trained in our state-of-the
art facilities, which included emergency training simulators and
full-scale aircraft mock-ups, along with additional medical train-
ing to ensure that Firefly’s passengers benefit from being in the
qualified hands in the industry.
The ceremony was graced by Group Chief Executive Officer of
Malaysia Airlines, Ahmad Jauhari Yahya; Chief Executive Officer
of Firefly, Ignatius Ong; Malaysia Airlines Management Committee
members – Captain Izham Ismail, Director of Operations; Zahrah
Zaid, Director of Human Resources; Hayati Dato Ali, Head of
In-Flight Services and the senior management committee of Firefly.
Cabin Crew Manager of Firefly, Lynette Maria Isaac, thanked
everyone involved in the recruitment and training process, “To all
Malaysia Airlines and Firefly trainers, thank you for leading the
graduates towards excellence.”
Lynette further added: “Let’s keep Firefly flying high with our
warm hospitality, friendliness and smiles. Don’t forget to carry
yourselves well, maintain good discipline and not forgetting,
staying healthy and in shape. You are the image that highlights
the success of Firefly.”
Firefly
recently launched its new
automated check-in service for all
domestic and Singapore flights. The
user-friendly automated check-in
service adopts a ‘book, print and fly’
concept that will allow on-the-go
passengers to complete their check-in while they book their
flights online.
“I am delighted to tell you that Firefly has started offering an
automated check-in feature in our booking system. We are the
first airline in the nation to offer this feature. It reinforces our
commitment to customer service and making Firefly one of the
nation’s most efficient and welcoming airline,” Chief Executive
Officer, Ignatius Ong explained.
Firefly’s automated check-in is a useful feature that helps
travellers save time. When you have booked your flight, simply
click on the check-in option and once booking is completed; your
boarding pass will be issued immediately.
This feature is available for customers who book tickets 14
