aving
driven almost
everymodel in Proton’s
stable and previously
owned two, I’m natu-
rally familiar with some
of their quirkiness. It’s
not that they’re down-
right terrible; in fact the ones I owned have
taken me on trips around the Peninsula
several times without major issues. The
non-critical issues, however, are so well
known that the mechanic knows what to
do the moment you mention certain key
words; you don’t even need to string a
proper sentence together.
In all fairness, there have been ef-
forts to correct the issues – and with the
Suprima S, even go beyond that, injecting
some ‘supremium-ness’ into the brand.
Looks
Derived from the Preve sedan, it retains
that contemporary look with just minor
tweaks to the grille, fog light housing and
air intake. The lack of blatant flashiness
in its appearance ensures that it will age
