Action-Packed August
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Michael Bay
works his magic yet again
with the blessings of United International
Pictures as this live-action adaptation
sees our favourite iconic talking turtles
hash it out on the big screen to fight the
baddies – a refreshing change from the
talking animated robots we’ve come to
associate Bay with. When the city’s crime,
violence and fear reach saturation point,
only justice is able to restore it to peace
and balance, a job fit for our titular green
heroes, together with Megan Fox as our
beloved reporter April O’Neil. Directed
by Jonathan Liebesman, TMNT is set
to excite Malaysian audiences starting
August 7.
The Expendables 3
Barney
is forced to face Conrad Stone-
banks, a rogue partner whom he once
worked alongside with years ago to co-
establish The Expendables. After going
rogue, Stonebanks chose to deal ruthlessly
in arms trading and became someone
Barney was forced to kill… or so he
thought. Stonebanks has faced death and
eluded it once, but he now makes it his
personal mission to end The Expendables,
although Barney has others plans. Watch
the explosive and heart-thumping action
come alive on screen starting August 14,
starring Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham,
Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jet Li and Dolph
Lundgren.
Lucy
Taiwan
. It is a world rife with corruption,
violence and unfairness, where mob,
street gangs, drug addicts and corrupt
cops wield enough power and influence
to control. Lucy finds herself being forced
to work as a drug mule for the mob.
However, the drug implanted in her body
leaks into her body’s system and she finds
herself changing… into a superhuman.
Her newfound powers enable her to
absorb knowledge instantaneously, move
objects with the sheer power of her mind
and to top it all off, she is unable to feel
pain or discomfort. Starring Scarlett
Johansson, Lucy is set to wow cinemas
come August 21.
