with any other organisation, the
Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of
Firefly is one of the key members
of the leadership team who helps
in the development and imple-
mentation of strategies, resourcing
and delivering of the company’s
strategic objectives on sustainability, as well as the
protection of shareholders’ interests. Suraya is actively
involved in all of this, and has to constantly make
business decisions to ensure that the implications,
opportunities and risks are fully considered and
aligned with the company’s financial strategy.
Leadership
“I report directly to the Chief Executive Officer, but I
must also lead the delivery of good financial manage-
ment so that the shareholder’s money is safeguarded
at all times and used appropriately, economically,
efficiently and effectively. Therefore, I have to direct
a finance function that is resourced to fit the purpose.
My job is to oversee financial planning and analysis,
corporate finance and treasury functions, purchasing,
controller and audit functions, as well as investor
relations. Aside from my finance portfolio, Human
Resource and Revenue Management also report
directly to me.”
