next destination.
With the flight frequency of 5 times
a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday,
Saturday and Sunday), it provides the
convenience of planning your schedule.
My word is to take their four days, three
nights package as it will give you more
rounds of golf and time to explore Batam
further.
On a side note, Malay is widely un-
derstood and spoken here, unlike in Jawa
Island. So for those who can’t speak
Bahasa Indonesia
, you shouldn’t have any
problem communicating as long as you
can speak Malay. Once again, I would like
to thank Firefly and Leisure Golf Services
for providing me with this opportunity to
experience Golf in Batam.

in Batam? All
these years it has been
a popular destination
for Singaporean golfers.
However, the number
of Malaysian golfers
has been increasing
tremendously in recent years and that
triggered Firefly to launch ‘Firefly Golf
Package – Batam’.
Recently I was invited by Firefly and
Leisure Golf Services to attend the ‘Firefly
Golf Package Launch – Batam’ for four days
and three nights. The flight schedule was
perfect. I landed in Batam at 10.25am and
was transferred to our first round of golf,
Tering Bay Golf Resort, a Greg Norman
designed course, where I also had lunch. A
casual round of golf will usually consume
around four to five hours which left us
plenty of time to rest before dinner.
Our dinner was hosted by the Batam
Tourism&Culture Department in conjunc-
tion with the Firefly Golf Package – Batam
launching. In his speech, Dr. Yusfa Hendri
(Head of Department Batam Tourism)
acknowledged the importance of working
with Firefly, which has tremendously
increased number of golfers to Batamover
the past fewyears and is looking forward to
a long and fruitful partnership with Firefly
with the launch of the Golf package.
Round two on the second day was
played at Palm Spring Golf Club. I must
say that this course was in meticulous
condition, a championship course. Be sure
to bring a lot of balls as hazards and wind
may come into play. The final round on
day three was at Southlink Country Club,
a 27-holes golf course.
The itinerary was well planned and
executed with no hiccups. Unlike other
golf packages where one will experience
a tight schedule, Firefly has managed to
fine-tune and allow participants to have
their own free and easy time before the
