What An Experience!

memorable experiences and incidents from their travels.

I decided
to go on a trip to Koh Samui
with my colleagues who are also my
buddies from Firefly in May 2014. In
the picture, from the left is Boy, who is
a CBTO, in the middle is Fahar from the
Finance Department and on the right is
Mack from the Fraud Department. We
decided to take a trip to this island in
order to enjoy and experience the only
Malaysian flight that flies directly to
Koh Samui. The journey was awesome;
even though we only spent three days
experiencing Koh Samui, the amount of
friendship returned is worth it.

I recently
went to Krabi for a work-trip
and co-incidentally, it was my birthday
as well. The trip didn’t go according to
plan as there were a few hiccups along
the way, but my colleagues surprised me
with a lovely gesture by having a mini
birthday surprise planned out. On top of
that, the hotel I was staying in presented
me with a birthday cake as well when I
got back to my room for the night. These
two surprises did brighten my day and
made my trip better.

During
my trip to Koh Samui, I tried
to request for a hand iron but the hotel
staff, who couldn’t converse in English,
didn’t understand me. I had to rub my
hands against my clothes in a motion to
indicate what I wanted and he nodded
as though he understood what I was re-
questing for. After 10 minutes of wait-
ing, the staff member showed up out-
side my door, however he didn’t appear
to have an iron in his hands. Instead,
he gave me five bars of soap. I couldn’t
stop laughing – it turned out that he had
misinterpreted my hand gestures. That
small incident made my trip a memo-
rable one that I will remember for many
years.
