Take a deep breath aswe take a trip to some of
themost spectacularwaterfalls inSoutheast Asia.
Cloud Forest Dome, Singapore
Tucked
in the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, the Cloud
Forest is home to a 35-metre tall mountain covered in lush
vegetation shrouding the world’s tallest indoor waterfall,
showcasing plant life from tropical highlands up to 2,000-me-
tres above sea level. Taking a step into the Cloud Forest is like
entering a mysterious world veiled in mist – entirely different
from the Flower Dome – and you can refresh yourself in the
mist of the waterfall just as the plants in the Cloud Forest do.
High in the tropical mountain, these plants would absorb the
abundant rainfall, gradually releasing the water to create a
constant, long-lasting supply of moisture for the land beneath
it, making it a self-sustainable garden.
Amazing Falls
Rainbow Waterfall, Malaysia
Living
up to its name, the Rainbow Waterfall is famous
for its morning displays of a rainbow, just as the sun
shines through. It is a tall fall and the water comes down
as a spray under normal conditions, which results in a
rainbow. While the waterfall itself is not quite remarkable,
after a heavy rainfall is where some of the magic happens.
Located in the state of Pahang, the RainbowWaterfall can
be reached via Sungai Lembing, a small town that was
once well-known for its tin mine. You will need a 4WD to
get to the falls, but if you don’t have one it can be arranged
in the town. The drive to the falls takes about an hour,
followed by about 45 minutes of easy trekking.
