Greetings and wel-
come aboard Firefly.
Chinese New Year
marks the start of a
new life but for most, it
marks a time to spend
with family, friends and take time off
fromwork. The holiday is usually divided
into two parts, with the first designated
as time for family and friends, and the
second involving traditions that bring
good luck.
In a multi-cultural society such as
ours, even those who do not celebrate
Chinese New Year will take advantage
of the public holidays and do a spot of travelling. From past experiences,
we’ve also seen demand for travel packages increase during this period, and
as such, Firefly Holiday has come out with several online travel packages,
inclusive of flights and accommodation, to domestic and neighbouring
beach destinations covered by our network.
February marks a special month for us as we will receive our fifth
ATR 72-600, making our fleet come up to 17 aircraft in total. This plays
an instrumental part in our network expansion plan with the objective
to provide higher frequencies and destinations but primarily to reflect
Firefly’s ‘Beyond Convenience’ tagline by providing more convenient
options to our customers.
As we come together and celebrate our good fortune with family
and loved ones this New Year, some of us are still recovering from the
unprecedented floods that ravaged a few states in Peninsular Malaysia.
Our best wishes go out to the brave emergency services and volunteers
who are working tirelessly to help our friends in need; and not forgetting,
our heartfelt thanks to all of you who opened up your hearts and wallets
to assist us in the rescue and relief operations.
I hope you will enjoy reading this latest issue as we fly you to your
destination.
