When did you join Holiday Villa group and
whatwas your previous background?
I have been with this group for almost 15
years. Prior to this I was with other hotel
groups and worked within Malaysia.
Holiday Villa continues to grow, what are
someoftheservicesthatmakeHolidayVilla
standout fromthe completion?
Holiday Villa has been around for many
years. Captivated by the serene beauty of
peninsular Malaysia’s east coast beaches,
the first Holiday Villa Hotel was opened
in 1987 in Cherating, a beach resort on
the East Coast of Malaysia with 50 guest
rooms and apartments. From Cherating,
the brand expanded to Langkawi Island in
1992. Today, Holiday Villa Hotels &Resorts
is the leading Malaysian global hospitality
chain, with properties spanning across
the globe from its homeland in Malaysia
to Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, the
Peoples Republic of China, Qatar, Sudan,
Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, France, the United
Kingdom and Switzerland.

In London we are well known for
our Malaysian ‘halal’ cuisine. Over the
years, Holiday Villa Hotels & Resorts’
outstanding achievements have garnered
various awards that were won at both the
corporate as well as hotel property levels.
The companywas awarded the prestigious
ASEAN Outstanding Business Award
2013 (Master Class Category) in the Hotel
Industry by AFES (ASEAN Franchise Expo
and Symposium). In 2005, the company
was awarded the Industry Excellence
Award-Export Excellence (Services). Prior
to that in 2004, it won the National HR
Excellence Award in Malaysia.
In 1996 the company participated in
the prestigious Prime Minister’s Quality
Award, Malaysia and was nominated as a
finalist amongst more than 30 companies
nationwide vying for the award. In 1997,
the company participated in the Quality
Management Excellence Award organised
by the MalaysianMinistry of International
Trade and Industry (MITI). Holiday Villa

DoesHolidayVilla cater forMICEevents at
all of itsAsian locations?
Yes, we do cater for MICE business, par-
ticularly at our hotels in Subang, Langkawi
and Bali.
At Holiday Villa Subang itself, our
meeting facilities can cater up to 2,000
people -- we have excellent space, meeting,
F&B and recreation facilities.
