What do you think of our local holiday
destinations?
I think we have such stunning sceneries
and gorgeous beaches. Along with our
tropical weather all year long, it is no
wonder why so many tourists from
abroad come to Malaysia to visit! Malay-
sia is a heaven for nature and shopping
duty free!
Do youwrite a lot when you travel?
Yes! I write a lot about the people and
ambience I experience when I’m traveling
to different countries. I just feel more
inspired to write when I’m away from
home. I get to think more out of the box.
Isthereanydreamholidaydestinationthat
youwish you could go to?
I’ve always dreamed of going to Russia
and Hawaii! I’d love to be able to visit
those places.
Howhas the year been for you so far?
I am planning my showcases for
Black-
heart
and other promotions. This was
back in January at No Black Tie. I am
also conceptualising my next album
project now for a mid-year release. I hope
to collaborate with international music
makers in this one. Travel wise I hope to
cover different cities in Japan and making
that a music related connection too!
How is it havingyour ownmothermanag-
ing your singing career?
I am the luckiest girl in the world! My
mother as my career manager is amazing
because I am confident that I am in the
right hands. We have a very professional
relationship when we are working on
my music career and quite seamlessly
resume our biological relation as mother
and daughter afterwards. It is comforting
to know that I have someone who is
looking out for my best interest at heart.
It definitely strengthens our bond through
time. I love the way we are!
Have you been in any show or concert
abroad?
Yes! I have performed at
Marché Interna-
tional du Disque et de l’Edition Musicale
(MIDEM) two years ago, in Cannes,
France for 30 minutes to an international
audience of music lovers at the Palace d’
Festival. I was also a panel jury member
and guest artist at the
Concert in Memo-
riam of Michael Jackson
in Romania. I
have done a fewmusic festivals in Europe
and one in China too.
How often do you travel for work?Which
destination is the most inspiring and
memorable to you?
Not as often as I hope for, perhaps twice
or thrice a year. I’m really blessed to
be able to travel to fun, new and exotic
places for my career. For instance, I was
really surprised at how much I enjoyed
the culture, weather and people in Turkey.
It is such a beautiful country. I love the
music, history and cuisine with the east
and west integrates.
Where do you normally go for vacation to
relax and unwind?
Most people like to go to the beach to
relax and unwind, I like to go on an
equestrian adventure! Some of the best
places to ride horses leisurely would
definitely be France and Argentina! I
rode at the infamous Paramount Ranch
in California.
