Borneo Jazz Festival

The inaugural Borneo Jazz Festival was
held in 2006, with the vision of being the
leading music festival in the region while

Extravaganza

Sabah
Be mesmerised by the poetry of music,
song and dance at a cultural extravaganza
which showcases Sabah at its absolute
best. This expression of the local spirit
will relay stories about the diversity of
a land which is rich in unique traditions
and beliefs. Besides engaging in theatre
production, visitors can also observe the
distinctive art of producing handicraft
such as wooden carvings and hand-
woven cloth by some of the most talented
local artisans.
KL Tower International
Towerthon Challenge
May 17, KL Tower, Kuala Lumpur
KL Tower International Towerthon Chal-
lenge has been a signature sports event
for Menara Kuala Lumpur for the past
14 years. This staircase run has gained
much popularity amongst local and in-
ternational sports enthusiasts, young and
old – a challenging 1km run uphill before
conquering 2,058 steps and reaching the
tower’s top level at 283m above ground
level. This event has become the spotlight
of media attention over the years.
Xterra Malaysia
May1-3, Langkawi Island, Kedah
Xterra is the world’s premier
off-road triathlon. One part
swimming, one part mountain
biking and one part trail run-
ning. It has become the most
anticipated event of many
athletes. In addition to the
triathlon, Xterra also has a
stand-alone trail running event,
featuring distances of 22km,
11km and 5km. The Xterra
Asian Tour Championship
gives athletes the chance to
race off road in some of the
most spectacular places in Asia
Pacific – Philippines, Guam,
Saipan, Jarvis Bay and Malay-
sia. Athletes collect points at
each race, and the champion
of the tour will be crowned
in Malaysia which is the final
race point of the tour. Xterra
Malaysia will conclude the
Asian Tour Championship.

northern regions. Not only would visitors
have a fun-filled and entertaining experi-
ence, the annual event also showcases
Miri as a truly cosmopolitan city with
fascinating cultural attractions.
