the bravest of souls
were seen screaming and
running for their lives at
the first ever Nights of
Fright — Festival of Fear
at Sunway Lagoon, held
in conjunction with the
Halloween season. The five-night only
event of fear and terror hosted thousands
of souls who roamed the grounds of the
theme park with members of the undead!
The inaugural Nights of Fright –
Festival of Fear built on the partnership
between Sunway Lagoon AND New York
based, The Sudden Impact! Entertainment
Company. Arising from the dark, all
creatures of the night including ghouls,
zombies, evil clowns and demented iconic
horror film killers were summoned from
their hiding places to swarm the park,
instilling fear in all who came across
them.
Following the success of Lynton V.
Harris’ Scream Park, established as
the pre-eminent live scare attraction in
Spooktacular Nights
at
Sunway Lagoon!
Malaysia, Sunway Lagoon’s amusement
park was transformed into a giant
landscape of horror and fun with various
themed fright zones including the Wild
Wild West Ghost Town, FunFear, All
Hallows Cemetery, Tanah Perkuburan
Kampung Timah and of course, Scream
Park at the centre featuring three floors of
fear including Horrorwood Studios 1 and
2, Rumah Hantu 3DX, World War Z live.
In addition, Sudden Impact! created a
brand new horror maze “The Mummy’s
Revenge – Tomb Of Terror”, a photo
opportunity with a giant alien Queen,
a seasonal pumpkin display featuring
ingenious carvings of iconic horror film
characters, a Jack O’ lantern river ride,
screenings of the Award winning seasonal
thriller entitled Freakshow featuring
the voice of rock legend Alice Cooper,
and two specially erected stages which
featured an undead fashion show and
performances by magicians and dancers
including the up and comers.
As Sunway Lagoon celebrated the
Halloween season for the first time ever
in the park’s history, the final Nights
of Fright – Festival of Fear Halloween
Night event was extended for an hour.
In addition, the final night also featured
a special performance and competition
organised by ANIMANGAKI, an Anime
Fan group where more than 20 cosplayers
dressed up and performed short sketches.
