Central Market
Central Market, also known as Pasar Seni,
is a well known heritage site that serves as
the Centre for Malaysian culture, arts and
handicraft. The building was built in 1888
by the then ruling British and was used as
a wet market. It now houses numerous
stalls that sell traditional goods. There is a
separate annex where local contemporary
art is exhibited. Central Market also plays
host to many arts and cultural events.

KL TOWER
Construction of this tower was completed
on March 1, 1995 and it is ranked as the
fifth tallest telecommunications tower in
theworldwith a height of 421m. You can
dine in the clouds, literally, while enjoy-
ing a magnificent view of the entire city
from the revolving restaurant. Don’t
worry, the restaurant turns slowly, so
you won’t feel dizzy.
Batu Caves
Batu Caves, which is located 13km
north of Kuala Lumpur, is a mas-
sive limestone hill that has a series
of caves and temples. The cave
houses one of the most popular
Hindu shrines outside of India and is
dedicated to LordMurugan. It is also
the focal point of the Hindu festival
of Thaipusam.
There are various undeveloped caves
which contain a diverse range of cave
fauna and they have also been the venues
for rock climbing in Malaysia for years.
Dataran Merdeka
Dataran Merdeka, or Independence
Square, is situated at the heart of the city.
On Aug 31, 1957, the Malaysian flag was
hoisted for the first time on the country’s
history. This historic event signified the
independence of the country from British
rule.
As a remembrance of this event, a
100m high flagpole was erected in the
very spot that the flag was raised for the
first time. Every year, on the anniversary
of the Independence Day, a parade is held
where march pasts by various unformed
bodies in their full, magnificent regalia
take place here.
Petaling Street
The main street in Chinatown, Petaling
Street is a buzzing hive of activity. There
is a great atmosphere here with many
bargains to be found and a wide selection
of mouth watering food to try. As part
