as Tempurung Mountain and Gajah
Mountain. The tour takes about three
hours through underground river systems
so expect to get wet.

combination
of adventure and nature - dirt road
transfers, cascading water and beautiful
surroundings. The heart of Perak is the
place to be for this pulse pounding ride.
Illyaz Yushaak is the founder of RNCK,
a company that organises white water
rafting at two locations, Ulu Slim and
Gopeng. Illyaz says that most of his
customers are off - road driving and dirt
bike enthusiasts who come to get an
additional adrenaline fix.
Rapid explanation
Ulu Slim is tucked in between Tanjung
Malim and Slim River. It is the heartland
of the indigenous Semai tribe. Here
lies the eight kilometre stretch of 24
class(2+)(-3) rapids. The classification or
grade of a rapid followed by the number
is a system used to rate the difficulty of
a stretch of river or a single rapid. The
grade of a river may (and usually does)
change with the level of flow. Often a
river or rapid will be given a numerical
grade, and then a plus (+) or minus (-)
to indicate if it is in the higher or lower
end of the difficulty level.
The packages offered by RNCK are
inclusive of 4WD transfers, lunch, snacks,
rafting equipment, guides and first aid.
There is a minimum age requirement of
12 and a maximum age of 60. When you
are set to go in this adventure, don’t forget
to pack another set of clothes to change
into after getting wet, sunblock and a pair
of sandals or old sneakers.
