Make that dreamvacation come truewith some smart planning.
M
any
of us list travel as a passion in life, yet
not many are able to follow through. The
idea of getting away, being adventurous
and experiencing new things sounds great.
Why is it then that when the time comes to
actually sit down and make it happen, all
sorts of excuses pop up?
Stop procrastinating
Make the decision and do not turn back, get the ball rolling and
come up with a plan. Set a travel period and give yourself time
to plan for the trip. If you need eight months to plan, take those
eight months.
Have a plan and a budget
Plan in advance how much money you would require and start
working towards that goal. Take part time jobs, cut down on eating
out, do everything it takes to get to your financial goal. Sacrifices
are required but the returns from that amazing trip are priceless.
Obviously the first thing to figure out is where you would like to
go. Research the locations then start planning your budget.
Look for hotels to stay, plan out a possible itinerary, note down
trip highlights or absolute must-sees. Read up on travel magazines
or online reviews. If you’ve got some time to spare, consider getting
a travel agent to help with your trip planning.
If you aren’t keen on month long vacations, scale it back a bit
and opt for weekend destinations. The shorter trips are easier to
plan and need a smaller budget. Take a road trip or hop on a train
to a new and exciting place.
Book it!
Once all the planning is done, book the trip! Take the plunge — all
your research and planning boils down to this one moment. This is
probably when reality will kick in, but those tickets have booked.
Look forward to some awesome experiences! So go on, travel.
Create new memories.
