Soulfest Asia ’15

Hear some of the world’s finest con-
temporary artists at Soulfest Asia 2015
as Australia’s only Neo-Soul, Jazz
and Hip-Hop festival makes its way
down to Malaysia for the first time
this year. Soulfest is a boutique music
festival and caters to fans of groove
music who are tired of stuffy outdoor
festivals and who are looking for a
comfortable night of musical enjoy-
ment. The first edition of Soulfest
Asia will be indoors and fully air-
conditioned, with performances by
urban music’s finest including Mary
J. Blige, Jhene Aiko, Talib Kweli and
De La Soul together with local acts
like Joe Flizzow, Najwa and Raising
The Bar. Soulfest Asiawill also feature
authentic soulfood and pop-up eater-
ies created by the BIG Group.

The Eat, Sing & Travel People, also known
as the EST Opera, is raising funds to form
the Kuala Lumpur City Opera. The concert
will feature the EST Company principal
singers, the EST Orchestra Ensemble, EST
Opera Chorus and The Kuala Lumpur
Children Choir performing favorite opera
scenes from popular operas such as
Car-
men, La bohème, Die Zauberflöte
(The
Magic Flute),
Il Barbieri di Siviglia
(The
Barber of Seville),
Cavelleria Rusticana
and
Hänsel und Gretel
. The concert is
patronised and supported by the Embassy
of the Republic of Italy.

Climbathon - Adventure Series
Oct 17&18, Kundasang, Sabah
The Mount Kinabalu International
Climbathon-Adventure Series covers
a challenging 23km route, taking par-
ticipants up the Summit Trail to Layang-
Layang (2.072m above sea level), before
descending to Mesilou and heading on
the finish line at Kundasang Town. The
race offers spellbinding vistas of Kinabalu
Park’s tropical and sub-tropical mountain
forests, summit peaks and river valleys.
