A typical day for Nagamaiah starts
with … breakfast! Though half said in
jest, he does realise that he needs the
kick start that a good breakfast provides
to face whatever the earlier part of the
day brings. Works starts with internal
Family man
Nagamaiah has a three year old son and he says that he tries to spend as much
time with his family as he can. He realises that having a work-life balance is very
important as he does not want to be a stranger to his child and tries to keep the
weekends for his family and friends.
His downtime is spent watching television and films. He is a big film buff and
often catches up on the latest blockbusters on the long haul flights that he is on.
Nagamaiah’s job also feeds his other passion … travelling. He has seen most of the
world in the past five years and says that his travelling has exposed him to a lot of
different ideas and cultures, which he uses to tweak and improve the SOP of his
agency.
Nagamaiah feels that the events industry is growing rapidly in South-East Asia
and that this growth will carry on. “Communities are mature enough, and have the
spending power. They are also more receptive to new music and sporting events.

in the right acts to keep Malaysia growing in this industry.”

not end at 5pm for him as his industry
is one that runs on different time zones.
He says that many of his informal
meetings happen after 5pm, with
conversations happening over a drink
or two. Networking sessions often take
place after work as well, so his day may
end anywhere between 9pm to 10pm.

Nagamaiah stressed that they also
help promote and elevate homegrown
talents and events, examples being the
Rainforest World Music Festival, the
Penang Island Jazz Festival and the
Borneo Jazz Festival.
Embrace the day
When asked about what gets him out of
bed every morning, Nagamaiah had this
to say, “I am in an industry that is full
of action and glamour. I talk to agents
and artists and meet up with sportsmen
from all over the world. I’m invited to
speak at many international conferences.
It’s exciting. I just love seeing the end
