What is themost challengingpart of your job?
Other than helping to ensure that the seats are sold, I don’t
really see my job as something that I need to view as a
challenge. I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that I love
my job.
If youwerenot theCorporateSales Executive for Firefly,
whatwouldyouprobablybedoing?
I always see myself as an educator, so perhaps I may have
become a lecturer. I enjoy passing on my knowledge for
others to learn from.
What is a typical day for aCorporateSales Executive?
I am always on the road, meeting with new and existing
clients, trying to sell our seats.
Doyouhave anypartingwords ofwisdomto share for
thosewhowish towork inyour industry?
Don’t ever stop trying. I never did. It was my dream to work
in the airlines industry when I first started studying Tourism
Management, and here I am now.
Haveyou travelled to anyFireflydestinations?Do share
withus oneof yourmorememorable travel experiences
eitherwith friends or family.
Yes. The most memorable trip for me has got to be Koh
Samui, Thailand. I was there on honeymoon with my wife.
Until today, I can still remember every detail clearly.
The smile says it all

Canyou tell us a littlemore about your background?
I am the youngest of three siblings. I was born, raised andwent to
school in Johor Bahru. I graduated from Johor Bahru Polytechnic
with a Diploma in Tourism Management.
What sort of skills andknowledge areneeded for your position?
I think great interpersonal skills and a broad product knowledge
are very crucial. As a sales person, you have to have a great
personality and always be friendly to make your clients feel at
ease. If you don’t know your own product you cannot do a great
job as a salesperson.
Whatwereyoudoingprior toyour current position?
Before I joined Firefly, I spent four years working for a travel
agent in Johor Bahru. My job back then involved mostly sales
and ticketing services as well as running the
umrah
operations.
Howmuchhas your previous experiencehelpedyou inyour
current role?
It helped me a lot! Throughout the four years that I spent there,
I managed to enhance my interpersonal skills, which I find very
important because as a sales person, everyone is considered
our friend.
What doyou like themost about your job?
It is always very satisfying to look back at the network that I
have built. Formal meetings and discussions that lead to new
friendships. That, to me, is a feeling that money can’t buy!
