Selling art is a tough job. But a work of art or a beautifully designed object can also
be themost fulfilling purchase one could ever make - because in art lies some of that
inexplicable combination of hopes, aspirations and dreams that we all need.
The Art Of The Matter
I
n
many ways, we have come a long
way from the days when only the
upper crust could afford beautiful
things but the reality is that most of
us non-millionaires can only afford to
spend a fraction of our income on art.
Likewise, there are numerous artists
out therewho need tomake a living but do
not necessarily have the avenue to sell their
works in away that does not cheapen their
value for the sake of making a quick buck.
That is where Art Row comes in.
Located in Publika Shopping Gallery,
this stretch of six pop-up shops sell and
showcase works by new artists. By letting
out the shops for a limited period at a
considerable discount, Art Row serves
as a platform for artists and designers to
experiment with the creation of a newkind
of art market beyond the auction houses
and high street galleries. For art fans, it
is a great opportunity to seek out fresh,
new work by young talents at affordable
prices. But more than amere marketplace,
Art Row is about cultivating a community
of like-minded individuals with a passion
for the arts.
Art Row’s current tenants are an eclec-
tic bunch.
