Curiously Charming
The room was stunning. A lot of
thought had obviously gone into the
design of the rooms. Spacious, with all
the amenities that one would expect. The
king-size bed looked extremely comfort-
able but I did not succumb to it’s siren
call. The roomwas a lot bigger than I had
expected, especially for a city hotel and it
opened up into a living room that had a
kitchenette. The sofa in the living room
even opened out into a queen-size bed,
which would be ideal for a family who
had kids. As I was by myself, it stayed as
it was. There was even a kitchen table
that could sit two. The bathroom was
compact but came with full amenities.
I did chuckle at the amusing wall decals
in the shower that indicated hot and
cold water.
Bonkers about Jonker
The well known Jonker Street is just a
few minutes walk from the hotel, and
not being one to still still, as well as
being quite hungry, I decided to take
a walk. Malacca is known as a bit of a

is a five month old hotel located in the historic city of Malacca, Malaysia.
I had heard many good things about this property and was pleased when General Manager
Simon Buenaventura agreed to host me, as it had been a while since I had visited Malacca
and was also very curious about this property.
Rooms at the inn
This charming hotel has 390 rooms that fall under the Superior Room, Deluxe Room,
Executive Room with or without balcony, Executive Suite and Poolside Suite categories. The Poolside
Suites are one of the more uniques selling points of this hotel as they offer a private entrance to the salt
water pool. I was met at reception by Buenaventura, who informed me that I was going to be put up
in one of their Superior Rooms. The lobby area was bright and well lit, with beautiful, unique lights
on the ceiling. This area alone offered a subtle blend of the modern with the old world and the smiling
staff members were the icing on the check-in cake.
