Beautifying Terra Firma
Terra Garden is the brainchild of
Desmond Ho
and the company’s mission is a simple
one. They are here to design and build stunningMalaysian-themed landscapes which
are targeted at residential and public premises. Every garden and landscape is lovingly
crafted and the end results are beautiful works of art.

he
Terra Garden of today
started life as GardenMart
Centre. Its business then
was selling terrariums,
or miniature gardens in
glass containers. It was
the vision of the founder,
Desmond Ho, to set up Malaysia’s biggest
and most extensive garden center. With
a rapidly growing gardening industry
and sound management, Garden Mart
Centre was converted into a private
limited company. In Oct 2000, Terra
Garden reached a milestone by setting
up the country’s largest garden center,
launching its Neo Nusantara range of
garden designs.
A passion for nature
Ho traces a love for nature all the way
back to when he was youngster, going to
school, getting up to mischief and gener-
ally doing things that boys
his age do. He was well liked
and had many friends from all
races. One of the things that he
remembers most fondly is the
simple pleasures that he and
his friends enjoyed. “Etched
into us kids were the joys of
simple pleasure; whether it
was playing with the rain water
or basking in the morning sun,
the fun for the day was always
determined by the kind of day
Mother Nature gave us.”
There came a day when Ho
gathered some of his friends
together and they built a tree
house. And it was quite a tree-
house when it was completed!
It came complete with trap
doors and windows and was
their little sanctuary away
from the world. Building that
treehouse taught Ho a lesson in
Space is used to full effect in
the creation of the garden
