Jamming Blisters
What inspired you to start Blisters?
We are all from a musical family back-
ground. Our uncles and aunty are from
Malaysia’s Country and Western band,
The Os Pombos. We were their biggest
fans since we were kids. Moreover, musi-
cians from that time would just walk in
and out of our family home when we
were kids. You would hear Elvis Presley,
Eric Clapton, Kenny Rogers and Deep
Purple blasting out from the speakers
of our home radio constantly. On the
porch would be musicians jamming on
their acoustic guitars and singing along
with each other. As a kid, just sitting in
the midst of all this, was very intriguing.
So it was just a matter of time before we
picked up an instrument as well and had
the calling to form a band.
Why did you pick your band name? And
why play the genre you do?
The band name was picked after our first
jamming session together during Christmas 2000. After the jam session we sat down
for a drink in the local
mamak
shop and realised that all our fingers had blisters.
Hence the name Blister. Our first jam session, we played
Blind
from Korn about 27
times. Then we discovered Led Zeppelin, and that exposed us to whole new world
of Rock n’ Roll. It’s the blues. Everything comes from the blues.
When not playingmusic, what do you guys do?
We all have day jobs and businesses running during the day as we believe that in
this day and age, you still have to have something going on during the day to fuel
and fund your passion for music.

Future plans for Blisters?
Out long awaited debut album is going to be released soon. We took our time with
this one as we wanted everything to be just right. We wanted to explore and learn
more about music before releasing it. To find our niche and sound, and being able to
capture that on a record, was something that could not be rushed.
