eing
a part of aviation industry requires
knowledge and skills that are earned through
both education and experience. Knowledge
in different aspects of aviation is crucial in
maintaining efficiency and perfect coordination,
especially when safety is involved. As a Head
of Flight Operations for Firefly, Captain Arif
is the person in-charge of maintaining efficient and effective
administration as well as overall management of Firefly Flight
operations. Well known for always being a good listener, Captain
Arif proves that communication is one of the key elements in
holding his current position.
What areyour responsibilities as aHeadof FlightOperations?
In general, I am responsible for the smooth running of admin-
istration and management of Firefly Flight operations. This
encompasses departments such as Technical Crew (Pilots),
Cabin Crew, Operations Centre, Training & Standards, Safety &
Human Factors, In Flight Services and Flight Operations Data
Monitoring. The Department of Civil Aviation Malaysia has
defined that HOD Flt Ops will also be responsible to ensure the
Company’s Air Operating Certificate legal requirements are met
at all times and complies with all regulatory aspects of aviation
in accordance to State Civil Aviation Regulation and International
Civil Aviation Organisation.
