Work Culture
The place becomes smaller. Everyone
knows everyone – from the airport’s
staff to the in-flight crew. We are a very
close-knit community based at the
Subang Sky Park terminal.
Knowing Others
You will get to know different people
in the aviation industry, and the longer
you stay, the more people you will
eventually get to know. I am really
happy where I am now, for I have really
found what I like to do in life. Not
many people, I suppose can say this!
Girl Power
“As a woman, I do not find it a problem
being around guys all the time. The
aviation industry, not only in Malaysia
is generally male dominant. However, I
don’t really face any problems and I am
very glad that they treat me just like ‘one
of the guys’.
“There are times when people ask me
what I do for a living. The responses I get
ranges from awe to disbelief. One of the
common response is: ‘Girl ah?! Can meh!’
“However, I’m glad this perception is
slowly changing for the better with time
... Being an aircraft engineer is not all
about brawn alone, it requires as much
brain as well!”
