No city break is complete without
some shopping opportunities, and
Auckland delivers on all fronts. The
CBD is home to many top brands as
well as regional clothing stores, while
the suburb of Newmarket boasts a
large Westfield Shopping Centre for
those preferring to shop off the streets.
Another suburb within moments of the
CBD isWynyard, where waterfront ship-
ping containers have been transformed
into funky bars and cafes, which are a
walking distance from the ferry terminal
but a world away from the bustle of the
transport hub.
This area also offers easy access to
the Fish Market for some fresh edibles,
while the New Zealand Museum has
much to offer those keen to learn more
about the country’s naval history.
Too many merely use Auckland as a
springboard to explore other parts of
the country, and too few realise the
unique and winning qualities of one of
the calmest cities on earth. There can be
few urban hubs so charming or green,
so add Auckland to your must-visit list
and prepare to be delighted!
