Meaty business
An old school favourite was served next.
Rib Eye Steak with Pumpkin Cake and
Grilled Vegetables.
Everything about this
dish hit the spot. The steak that was
cooked perfectly. Pumpkin cake that
was moist and stunning. The grilled
vegetables were very tasty. The sauce,
pumpkin and vegetables were all served
in separate dishes, making for a lovely
presentation. As far as I am concerned,
you just cannot beat a good steak. And
this was a good one.
Chicken Cordon Bleu.
Another old
school classic, and again, done so well
here. Crispy outside, gooey cheese on
the inside. Served with a side of golden
fries. Nuff said.
My personal favourite was the
Plum
Sauce Chicken
. The chicken was fired
to perfection and the plum sauce that
coated it gave it a sweet and tangy kick.
The bits of dried plum that was mixed
in the dish was an additional flavour
enhancer.
The final offering was the
Pan Seared
Salmon with Vegetable Ragu
. This is a
very simple, yet wholesome dish. The
fish was seared nicely and the vegetable
ragu was a great match to the fish.
The beauty of the food here is that it
is cooked fresh, with passion. It is not
haute cuisine
, which makes it more
enticing to me. Good, honest food done
well, made without the use of MSG
(Monosodium Glutamate)
. Do yourself
a favour and have a meal there.

One of their best selling
dishes, Chilli Crab
landed on the floor. I had managed
to make an incredible mess with a
prawn. I had the last laugh though
as I ate quite a few of them and they
were delicious.
Made using chilli, ginger, onion,
vinegar, soya sauce and sugar, the
prawns were a perfect combination
of flavours which were not overshad-
owed by the chilli powder. The jellyfish
had a wonderful texture and, amongst
others, a heavenly flavour of ginger.
Next up was one of their best
selling dishes,
Chilli Crab
, which is
served with chunks of lightly toasted
homemade bread. The bread was a
perfect accompaniment to the thick,
delicious gravy. I surprisingly enough,
did not make a mess trying to get to
the tender crab meat. This is one dish
not to missed out on.
