he
reception area of the
hotel is located on the 11th
floor and I idly looked at
the posters on the walls
of the lift advertising the
different promotions avail-
able as the lift speedily
made its way up. The reception area was
cool and relaxing, instantly infusing a
feeling of calm.
As I was a bit early and my room was
not ready yet, the receptionist suggested
that I relax in the massage chair that was
by the pool. The pool was accessible from
the reception via a glass door. I took her
advice and was soon dozing off in a very
comfortable vibrating chair. Fortunately,
I was not drooling when they came to tell
me that my room was ready.
Modern contemporary
The room that I was shown to was a
Premier Deluxe
, and it was a verymodern,
beautiful room. The room was spacious
with plenty of natural light coming in
through the windows. Every area of the
hotel had high speed internet access,
which is great if you are a business travel-
ler and the room was no exception. The
bathroom was a good size with a great
rain shower.
The hotel fully embraces the green
concept and believes strongly in recy-
cling. Every floor has recycling bins.
The pool is heated by channeling heat
that is generated by the compressors
in the building. The pool is not cleaned
with chlorine, but with salt. The floor-
ing of the pool has been made using
recycled material form the husks of
padi.
The packaging of all the used shower
amenities are sent away to be recycled
and reused.
I headed down to The Club for a
snack. The Club is a large area where
the hotel guests can have their meals
or have small meetings or discussions.
It is a very modern and contemporary
area, with a great view of the city. The
wooden walls were made from recycled
materials. Other than great food, and a
very pleasant atmosphere, The Club also
boasts three boardrooms and a business
centre. I snacked on their mini lamb
sliders and they were delicious.
