Panasonic in 1989 as
part of the brand’s air-
conditioner division.
Attached to Human
Resource, he was then
sent to Japan to work
for two years before going through job
rotations in different departments upon
his return to Malaysia. He ended up
leading the sales and marketing of the
air-conditioner department, which, at
that point, was handled by the factory
before being transferred to Panasonic
Malaysia in 2004. Cheng was then tasked
with the overall marketing for consumer
products, which eventually led him
to his current position as Managing
Director of Panasonic Malaysia.
