magnificent views over the entire city
that is very popular among the locals.
Ampang Lookout Point used to be a
proper complex built on the top of the
hill. Unfortunately, it was shut down
in 2012 for safety reasons. Due to great
demand, a
pasar malam
(night market)
type of area was established at the
junction of
Jalan Hulu Langat
and
Jalan
Mulia 2/1
, about 1km downhill from
the closed Lookout Point for people to
hang out and enjoy the view of the city.
The stalls are open every day serving
local food.
Ampang, without a doubt, is a great
place for locals to hang out and for
visitors to experience the Malaysian
urban lifestyle.

bigger climbs like Mount Kinabalu and
Mount Tahan. The steep incline of Bukit

a waterfall spot which is usually packed
with hikers who are taking a break from
their climb to the top.

prices like Suzi’s Corner. It is a
very well-known spot to hang
out, especially for supper with a
selection of food from
satay

roti canai
to fried rice and noodles.
The need to shop is taken care
of at Ampang Point Shopping Mall.
Though it is quite basic compared to the
other newer, bigger malls, Ampang
Point makes up for this by the
interesting retro feel that it has.
Think back to walking into
a shopping mall back in
the nineties and you will
get the idea. There are
supermarkets, a bazaar
on the ground floor and
some eateries within the
compound, including an
authentic Korean food
restaurant on level 2.
The Greatest View
Do not underestimate Am-
