Since then, Tan has worked with some
of the most well-known photographers
and designers as well as walking at
prestigious local fashion events such as
MIFA (Malaysia International Fashion
Week), STYLO and the MODA fashion
show.
“I look up to local supermodel Amber
Chia for her success and humble attitude.
We are very close friends and I have
actually been modelling my career on
her success,” says Tan. Throughout the
time spent talking about his career and
Malaysian fashion scene, it was clear that
Tan is very passionate and committed
about his mission to take his career to
the next level.
This includes taking up acting, which
according to him is something very
new, as well as his future plan to tackle
the international market and walking
for international fashion week couture
runways someday. He is also currently
busy training new faces in modelling for
a local modelling academy.

Being in an industry which requires good
looks above everything else, Tan always
maintains his physique and impeccable
style. “I always watch what I eat and hit
the gym at least three times a week. I
try to get at least two and a half hours
of gym time despite my hectic schedule.
Most importantly, I take care of my skin
and style myself each time I step out of
the house for events and casting calls,”
explains Tan.
He gushes about how wonderful
responses from the people have been. Tan
has over 10,000 followers on Facebook.
“Social media platforms like Facebook
and Instagram have helped me a lot
in boosting my career and getting the
feedback that I need in order to move
forward in the industry. I have some very
loyal fans that have been keeping track of
my modelling career and supporting me
along the way,” says Tan.
It was almost dark and Tan had to
go to another event for the evening.
It looks like there is no stopping this
talented model. If there is one local male
model who is going to make it big in the
international fashion scene, Wilson Tan
might just be that person.
