Howmuch has your previous experience
helped you in your current role?
I would said that experience is the most
valuable asset in any kind of job. During
my journey in Firefly, I was lucky as I
was given the chance to experience and
try out different areas of finance. I am
now able to share my knowledge with
my team mates.
What is a typical day for aManager of
Finance like you?
Quite routine actually. Checking and
replying emails is the first things to do
in the morning. After that, I will start to
prioritise all the daily tasks. I have to keep
checking and liaising withmy department
mates tomake sure everything is on track.
What do you like themost about your
job?
Well, of course the perks of working for
an airlines company. We can enjoy staff
rates to travel to any Firefly and Malaysia
Airlines destinations. Secondly, I have
the best team here in Firefly. Everyone
in our team is willing to help each other
in getting the job done.
What is themost challenging part of
your job?
Everyone needs to ensure there are no
errors in the work. We also need to make
sure our department and other business
units have clear communication to avoid
any misunderstandings. Any financial
activities must be recorded for smooth
audits in future.
Howdo youmanage to achieve awork-
life balance?
On weekdays after work, I like to read
news online and watch some good dra-
mas or movies. I hang out with friends for
nice meal or sport activities on weekends.
This is how I rest my mind and release
stress after a busy week.
If youwere not theManager of Finance
for Firefly, what would you probably be?
I would probably be in real estate as a
Property Agent or working for real estate
developer. I always enjoy reading those
home architecture and design magazines.
I also follow current property markets
from time to time.
Do you have any partingwords of
wisdom to share for thosewhowish to
work in your industry?
Aviation industry is very unique com-
pared to others. It is always fun and
challenging. You will not regret working
in aviation as you will gain memorable
experiences. Once you join the industry,
you will get what I mean.
Have you travelled to any Firefly
destinations?
Yes, all lof them including Malaysia
Airlines destinations.
