Hal lam F.C. ( 1860)
Based in Crosspool , South Yorkshi re, Ha l l am F.C. pl ayed in the Northern Counties East League Divi s ion One ( level 10
of the Engl i sh footba l l league system) . Founded in 1860, i t i s second only to loca l r iva l s Shef field F.C. in the l i st of the
oldest assoc i ation footba l l c lubs in the wor ld. Games between these two c lubs are known as the Rules derby. In 1867
the c lub made hi story by winning the wor ld’ s fi rst ever footba l l tournament , the Youdan Cup.
F.C Wanderers ( 1860)
F.C Wanderers want us to bel ieve that they were formed in 1859 but the Engl i sh FA don’ t accept thei r c l a im as the old-
est documents states Wanderers were establ i shed in 1860 Battersea . However , i t i s documented that they are the fi rst
c lub to win the Engl i sh FA Cup. In the fina l , held at Kennington Ova l in London on March 16, 1872, Wanderers beat the
Roya l Engineers by a s ingle goa l , scored by Morton Betts , who was pl aying under the pseudonym A.H. Chequer .
Shef f ield F.C. ( 1857)
The fi rst documented profess iona l footba l l c lub
in 1857 , Shef field pl ayed a big role in revolu-
tioni s ing and making footba l l a globa l sport .
Shef field F.C. ini ti a l ly pl ayed games under
the Shef field rules and did not of fi c i a l ly
adopt the FA rules unti l 1878.
The c lub competes in the Rules
derby wi th near neighbours Ha l l am.
In 2004 they were given the FIFA
Order of Mer i t , an award given to
only one other c lub – Rea l Madr id,
and in 2007 they were inducted
into the Engl i sh footba l l ha l l of
fame, to commemorate thei r 150th
anniversary.
Cray Wanderers ( 1860)
Cray Wanderers F.C. i s an Engl i sh
semi -profess iona l footba l l c lub
based in Bromley, Kent . The c lub
was establ i shed in 1860 in the twin
vi l l ages of St . Mary Cray and St Paul ’ s
Cray, near Orpington.
Cray Wanderers was formed by the work-
ers of loca l ra i lway of Kent . They pl ayed a
major role in developing footba l l in southern
Engl and but they never became a top level
c lub, even af ter a decent start in the 20th
century.
Cray Wanderers were Kent League champions four
times , and have reached the fourth qua l i -
fying round of the FA Cup once in thei r
hi story. They are current ly members
of the I sthmi an League Divi s ion One
North.
