Ning’smusical journey started at a very
young age. Hermother was an English
andmusic teacher and her grandfather
loved to play the violin. She started off
learning to play the violin and piano
beforemoving on to vocals at around the
age of ten. She has not stopped since.
She played the violinwithwhat was
then the Youth Symphony Orchestra
for quite some time, performing at
many Royal functions. A Sony
Music contract was signed
when shewas 16, and the
rest - as she says - “is on
Wikipedia.”
She is still a very busy
lady nowadays, but she
happily says thatmost
of her time is spent
being a homemaker. She
juggles all this withmanaging her
events company as well. “A lot of things
are keepingme busy but themain thing is
being amumandwife and taking care of
the home affairs.”
Singing has always been her bread and
butter but Ning is spreading her wings
to explore other territory. Her latest
venture is her very own fashion label and
fashion house called The Conversation
Studio. “We are different fromother
fashion houses as we provide a private
and luxurious shopping experience to our
customers.”
It is all good for Ning despite having to
put on several different hats as amother,
entertainer and businesswoman.
As one could imagine, downtime is very
important to this lady. Shemakes sure
that she has plenty of “me” timewhere she
pampers herself at the spa andwithmas-
sages. Family time is also very important
to her and being a beach lover, she tries to
get to a beach destinationwith her family
as often as is possible.
GoodFor TheSoul
She credits her high octane performances
on stage to the fact that she lives a healthy
lifestyle and surrounds herself with
positive people. Ning draws energy from
her friends and family and says that she
“hates to be around negative people.”
Though this busy lady is of mixed heri-
tage, Ning does not have one particular
type of food that she favours over another.
“It depends on themood that I am in,”
she says. There are times when she craves
Peranakan food, like “devil curry” and yet
she still loves her soupymeals. This she
attributes to the Chinese in her. “Soups are
good for the soul.”
To all her fans out there, she has this to
say: “Thank you for all your support over
the years and I hope that youwill enjoy
my newalbumto be released soon.”
It looks like the powerhousewill not be
slowing down anytime soon andwe look
forward tomanymore years withNing
