What is themost challengingpart
of your job?
Lastminute flight cancellations are
always difficult, for instance during floods
or haze.We have to communicatewith
staff fromother departments to ensure
our customers and passengers are pleased
with Firefly services and products despite
the unavoidable circumstances.
Howdo youmanage toachieve a
work-lifebalance?
I always give full commitment during
my working hours. After I finishwork, I
normally hang out withmy friends. I go
back tomy hometown onmy off day to
spend timewithmy family. Sometimes I
will go on impromptu vacation alone to
nearby destination to relax and unwind.

whatwouldyouprobablybe?
If I were not the Executive PPD for Firefly,
most probably I would be helpingmy
parents run their business.
Do youhave anypartingwords

wish towork inyour industry?
The only way to do great work - especially
in this industry - is to lovewhat you do. If
you can’t change your fate, change your
attitude. This is exactly what I did in the
beginning of my career with Firefly.
Have you travelled toany Firefly
destinations?Do sharewithus one
of yourmemorable travel experi-
ence eitherwith friends or family.
I have gone to Langkawi andMedanwith
my familymembers. I love to travel with
my family.We got tomeet people in other
places while learning about their culture
and lifestyle.

Upon completion of my internship at
Firefly, I was offered a job as a Call Centre
agent. Soon after, I received another offer
fromPre&Post Department (PPD) to
become an officer.Whileworkingwith
Firefly, I decided to take up aMaster of
Tourismcourse inUITMas a part-time
student. Soon after, in 2014, I was
promoted to the position of Supervisor
Preflight.
Howmuchhas your previous
experiencehelpedyou inyour
current role?
Since joining Firefly in 2009, I have gained
a lot of experience.Working inmy previ-
ous department allowedme to gather
knowledge and information as well as an
understanding of theworking culture in
the airlines industry, which I found very
useful formy current role in PPD.
What is a typical day for anExecu-
tivePre&PostDepartment (PPD)
like you?
I checkmy email first thing in themorning
as we receive a lot of emails related to our
department. It involves a lot of updating
and scheduling. I also have to arrange the
staff roster.
What do you like themost about
your job?
Inmanaging the tasks given bymy boss,
I have towork closely with other depart-
ments especially if it is related to the issue
of distribution. I like to listen to feedback
aboutmy pre-flight teamas it helps us
solve problems and get ideas to run our
operation smoother.
