good time to cool down the island heat. A
lot of local and international events have
taken place at the SPICE Arena indoor

Snakes andPrayers
Perhaps it is time go outside and
experience Bayan Lepas outdoor. The
Snake Temple is amust-visit. Located just
3km fromthe airport, the templewas built
in honour of Chor Soo Kong, a Buddhist
priest and healer who gave shelter to the
snakes.
Upon completion of the temple after
his death, the snakes all moved in on their
own. Do not be alarmed by the name
because the temple is actually a serene
spacewith carvings and statues as well as
trees where the snakes are usually found
coiled at the branches. All the snakes
here have been defanged so there really
is nothing to be scared of. There is also
an exhibition roomwhere the snakes are
kept in tanks. There is a small fee if you
would like to take photos with the snakes.
