by Jobstreet.com in collaborationwithGillette indicate that in today’s competitive job
market, grooming plays a part in determiningwho gets hired. Here are some points to
ponder upon before you go for your next job interview.
Hiring decision is strongly influenced
by a candidate’s appearance as that
distinguishes them from other job
candidates.
About 45% of hi r ing
employers who were surveyed shared
that when there are two equally qualified
candidates, the better groomed person is
more likely to get hired.
Good grooming is important because it
expresses a candidate’s motivation and
professionalism.
When an employee
grooms well during an interview or at
work, 55% of employers take notice as
they feel that good grooming correlates
to a candidate’s motivation.
Employersdon’t tell it toacandidate’s face
that they have got personal grooming

The most surprising fact is,
employers will not tell employees directly
that they have bad breath, they are
not clean shaven or that they dress
inappropriately – 64% said they will
just keep quiet about it.
