Save the Wild Tigers
The
Eastern & Oriental Express will be
hosting a special fund raising journey in
aid of Save Wild Tigers from October 2
to 6, 2014. The once in a lifetime journey
travels through the tiger’s historic habitat
from Singapore, through Malaysia and
Thailand and highlights include a Gala
dinner at the Majestic Hotel in Kuala
Lumpur that will be attended by distin-
guished members of the Malaysian Royal
Family, international celebrities and
VIPs. This five day adventure includes

expansion in Malaysia with its newest
store at Dataran Pahlawan in Malacca.
The latest retail identity draws inspiration
from the source of pewter – tin mines –
and features a cashier counter decorated
with pewter sheets forming a traditional
mengkuang weavemotif. The creative use
of geometric patterns from a traditional
Malaysian craft captures the spirit of a
brand which uses its rich heritage of
craftsmanship that continues to create
one night at Raffles, Singapore, two
nights on the Eastern & Oriental Express
and one night at the Mandarin Oriental,
Bangkok.
In addition to the special journey in
October, guests travelling on the Eastern
& Oriental Express throughout 2014 will
have the opportunity to place silent bids
for a stunning and unique Crystal Tiger
Sculpture, designed by artist, Lauren
Baker – with the winning bid to be
revealed on the final night of the ‘Tiger
Express’ journey at the Mandarin Oriental
objects of desire for the 21st century.
