LE TOUR DE LANGKAWI

Perak, Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu &
Kelantan
Asia’s premier cycling event is back again
this year! Viewed as the Asian answer to
the famed Tour de France, this annual
cycle race is a major sporting event
that will go through states throughout
scenic Malaysia, namely Perlis, Kedah,
Perak, Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu and
Kelantan. The course of the race includes
several destinations with stipulated
distance to be covered in a particular
day, ranging from 94 km to 156 km in a
day. The brainchild of Tun Dr Mahathir
Mohamad back in 1996, this prestigious
cycling event has since become a platform
for professional cyclists around the world
to launch their careers.

Formed in 2004 by famed music manager
Simon Cowell, Il Divo consists of Spanish
baritone Carlos Marin, American tenor
David Miller, Swiss tenor Urs Buhler
and French pop singer Sebastien
Izambard. ‘A Musical Affair’ is Il Divo’s
first compilation of songs inspired by
Broadway shows such as
Phantom of
the Opera
,
Carousel
and
West Side Story
.
Following the quartet’s successful week
of performances at the Marquis Theatre
in New York, fans in Malaysia will be in
for a wonderful evening.
UPFRONT ARENA PRESENTS: FOALS
4March: KL Live, Kuala Lumpur
Hailing from Oxford, England, this indie
rock band will perform their debut
concert in Malaysia in March, kicking off
the all-new Upfront Arena, an extension
of The Bee’s Upfront series. The band
was formed by longtime friends Yannis
Philippakis (guitar) and Jack Bevan
(drums), along with Andrew Mears on
vocals, guitarist Jimmy Smith, and bassist
Walter Gervers. The quintet has won fans
over with their poppy, jittery, upbeat,
math rock/post-punk sounds. Their debut
album
Antidotes
was released in 2008,
followed by
Total Life Forever
(2010) and
Holy Fire
(2013).
PLANET EUPE MUSIC FEST
1March:TheCarnivall,CintaSayangResort,
Sungai Petani, Kedah
Set to take place at Eupe’s Carnivall Water
Park, located within the Cinta Sayang
Resort in Sungai Petani, Kedah, the Planet
EUPEMusic Fest will showcase some of the
biggest and best music acts from around
Asia, as well as fromMalaysia. This music
event will be headlined byMandopop star
Wang Lee Hom, who is one of Asia’s most
popular artistes. Support acts for the night
include famed South Korean K-Pop boy
band, U-KISS, Malaysian singer-songwriter
extraordinaire Yuna, and Taiwanese
electro-pop sensation, Jeannie Hsieh.
Other local acts in the line-up includeMint
G, Orange Tan, Najwa Latif, Da Mon Ster
and Kah Jun.
