Kinabalu, Sabah, the
Tenom Agricultural Park
is home to a myriad of gar-
dens that are richwith flora
and fauna. This sprawling
500-acre establishment is one of the most
exciting man-made parks found in Borneo
and it is owned and administered by the by
the Sabah Agriculture Department.
One of the most frequented gardens,
the Ornamental Garden, consists of 21
mini gardens, including the Bougainvillea
Court, the Hibiscus Garden and the Lily
Glade to name a few, and the flowers here
are often in full bloom for you to enjoy as
you take a stroll amongst the greens.
Other strolls worth taking are the ones
through the Evolution Garden, which
showcases the different stages of plant
evolution from as far as 4.5 billion years
ago, the Native Orchid Centre, the Bee
Centre and the Native Fruit Orchard. The
Giant Water Lily, scientifically known as
the Victoria Amazonica, is one of themain
attractions in the park that you should
not miss. This fragile looking creation
will definitely surprise you as it can hold
objects up to 30kg in weight.
