Conquering The Big Apple
FireFlyz gets up-close and personal with real estate agents, Ryan Serhant and Fredrik
Eklund, of the highly successful docu-series, MillionDollar ListingNewYork.
First of all, did the threeof youknoweach
other prior to the show?
FE:
No, I had actually never heard of them
before the show. But then again, with over
28,000 licensed real estate agents on the
island of Manhattan alone, that would
explain why.
How is ‘MillionDollar ListingNewYork’
different from ‘MillionDollar ListingLos
Angeles’?
RS:
The location is the major difference,
obviously. We are also a tougher group
in a tougher city, so the show has more
attitude than the LA version.
FE:
That’s right. The two cities are very dif-
ferent: New York is vertical, faster, colder
andmore cut-throat. All that translates onto
the TV screen and I do believe that we have
bigger transactions on average.
What can audiences inAsia look forward to
seeingon the show?
FE:
Big deals and lots of emotions in our
personal lives. The real estate will always
be the vehicle driving this show.
RS:
That, and not forgetting themost beauti-
ful homes New York City has to offer, big
price tags, and lots of drama! I’ve loved the
Million Dollar Listing format for a long time
because it shows the lives of the real estate
brokers and not just the homes. You have
to be crazy to be a real estate broker – and
that’s good TV.
ow
into its third season, Million Dollar Listing New York follows three of the most ambitious real estate agents
and gives viewers an inside look into the aggressive, high-stakes world of New York City’s real estate market.
Drama is guaranteed to follow the three agents, Ryan Serhant (RS), Fredrik Eklund (FE) and Michael Lorber,
as they deal with demanding clients, the competitive property market and of course, each other.
