Tell us about Le Noir.
WithLeNoir,wewanted tocreate the
greatest intimate cirque experience
in the world and bring the audience
as close as possible to the amazing
artists. We had a very clear creative
vision of what we wanted to achieve
from the very beginning. The show
wasdevelopedover aperiodof about
two years.
What was the biggest challenge in
developing the show?
There are very few artists that are
as good as the cast of Le Noir, so
the biggest challenge was finding,
recruiting and training the cast. They
have tobe theverybest atwhat they
do. Sourcing for thecast itself tookus
about a year.
Which is themost risky stunt?
Without a doubt it is the Wheel of
Death. It isby far themost dangerous
circus act.
What’stheworst thatcouldgowrong
in the show?
It’s a very dangerous show. If a per-
former falls from a great height, it
could have terrible results. But the
casthavebeentrainedformanyyears
so chances of this happening is very
rare.
Is it true that the set doesn’t include
a live orchestra?
The score is a very futuristic one
that blends the orchestra with very
modern beats and grooves, which is
something that would be very hard
to do live.
What isthemostuniqueand interest-
ing thing about Le Noir?
The closeness and proximity that the
audience are to the stage, and that
there isnowhereelse intheworldthat
the audience can see this quality of
acts together in one show!
What could the spectators expect?
The greatest acts in the world com-
bined in a fast paced spectacle that
brings the audience closer to the
action than ever before.
Grand Theatre will be fully transformed
to seat audiences around a custom-built
circular stage of about 2.5m in diameter,
giving a spectacular 360 degree view
of the performance. Audiences will be
“enclosed” within a canopy of curtains
designed from LED lights. The seating in
the Grand Theatre will be limited to just
over 1,300 seats to create a unique and
intimate experience.
Led by Creative Producer Simon
Painter and Executive Producer Tim
Lawson, the creative team behind Le
Noir has launched many large-scale
productions including Le Grand Cirque
Adrenaline, which is the biggest and most
ambitious thrill circus ever staged in the
Sydney Opera House. The showopened to
rave reviews and sold over 35,000 tickets
in 10 days.
With incredible demonstrations of
balance, contortion, stamina and aerial
artistry, the skills exhibited by the cast of
Le Noir make this a show that audiences
won’t want to miss. Tickets are priced
from SGD$70 and are now on sale.
