Baybeats 2014
27 –29 June,The Esplanade, Singapore
An Asian-centric alternative music festival of its
kind in Singapore, Baybeats is held every year
and is one that puts together a fist-pumping
line-up showcasing prominent local and in-
ternational acts – folk, pop, metal, post-rock,
emo, punk, electro and everything in between.
Through the Baybeats Budding initiatives, the
best local talents not only inmusic-making, but
also other creative fields of music journalism,
gig photography, video arts and more, are
gathered for this three-day event. The festival
also celebrates the music-loving lifestyle with a
festival village that brings together local indie
crafters and entrepreneurs.
Le Noir
From7 June, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore
Le Noir, Singapore’s 2013 theatrical smash hit featuring astonishing cirque-style acts,
returns with new, daring performances by a cast of world-class acrobats, musicians,
specialty acts and comedians. Several new acts have been added to Le Noir 2014,
including “The Wheel of Death” – one of the world’s most complex circus stunts that
will have audiences on the edge of their seats. Carefully engineered with the deliberate
intention of making the audience a part of the entertainment, this magical theatrical
journey is one that has been designed to be enjoyed by audiences young and old.

Made up of members Shou, Saga, Tora,
Nao and Hiroto, Alice Nine is Japan’s top
visual-kei band that has been topping
charts with songs such as
Vandalize,
Jewels, Stargazer
and
Gemini
. In conjunc-
tionwith their 10th year anniversary, this is
the band’s first-ever tour outside of Japan
where Malaysia is included as one of the
destinations right after Singapore. Mixing
music with style, Alice Nine’s concerts are
set to be visually impactful with elaborate
wardrobe, make-up and showmanship.
Vertical Horizon Live in
Malaysia 2014

For the first time ever, American
alternative rock band Vertical
Horizon will be playing live in
Malaysia. Founded in the early
1990s, the band is best known for
a string of hits, including Y
ou’re
a God, Everything You Want,
and
Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morn-
ing)
. Their most recent album,
Echoes from the Underground
, was
released in October 2013. Fans will
be in for a treat as they go down
memory lane, singing along to past
hits as well as rocking out with the
new ones.
