springs are com-
monly found in coun-
tries such as Japan and
Taiwan but as my hectic
schedule did not permit
me to jet off for a long
holiday, it was something
that would have to go into my bucket list. That
was before I found out from a close friend that I
could have access to hot springs just a mere two
hours away. Excited by the prospects of spending
my day soaking in the comforts of a hot spring for
the first time, I planned my trip to The Lost World
Hot Springs and Spa that was located in The Lost
World of Tambun, Perak.
As I entered The Lost World in the late afternoon, I was amazed
by the sheer size of the place – the unique hot springs and spa covers
an area of 80,000 square feet! The area includes the Infinity Pool,
Lost World SteamCave, Foot Spa, Crystal Spa, Top of theWorld Pool,
The Geyser of Tambun, Crystal Pool and lastly, Saphira’s Bistro. I was
told that the water in the hot springs comes from a natural source
and that the thermal water in the pool is not recycled, making the
water hygienic and safe for use.
I made my way over to the impressive Infinity Pool that unlike any
other man-made hot springs, it is specially made to function as a true
spa. Just to get an idea of how large this pool is, it can accommodate
up to 300 people at once! An interesting fact is that three million litres
of thermal water percolate from the ground in Tambun and into the
hot springs and out into the Kopisan River. The temperature of the
water was 40°C, so it took some time for me to fully immerse myself
