Zipangu
With
its warm, woody accents melding
with the soft flow of water over stone and
glass, Zipangu both evokes and exudes a
sense of calm and serenity. Bottles of sake
and what appears to be the wine cellar are
stacked in neat, efficient Japanese fashion
to form a spectacular entrance for the
hungry guest. A bar with a private lounge
Ten Restaurant
Like
a scene out of a futuristic utopian
movie, TEN Restaurant @ Marc Resi-
dence opens its automated doors to you
as its interior plays on the juxtaposition of
long, bold lines and soft circles amidst a
sea of metal, glass and dark, earthy tones
with soft, warm lighting to create a so-
phisticated, cultured and professional, yet
comfy appearance, which greatlymatches
the variety and absolute high quality of
the fine food they serve. Located most
strategically on Jalan Pinang, the fine
dining Ten Restaurant caters to the more
discerning palates of our lot with their
tantalizing selection of authentic, yet
contemporary Japanese cuisine.
All their lunch and dinner sets start
with an amuse-bouche to tingle the palate,
then an entrée to whet the appetite, after
which it is followed by the main course
with the
shokuji
(accompaniments such
as rice and
miso
soup) and lastly dessert.
They also do provide a decent selection
of ala carte items. The ‘Ten Heaven 8
course’ meal comes recommended, with
its generous selection of 2 entrees, a soup,
a ‘chef’s selection’ fish of the day and the
highlight – Premium Wagyu beef cooked
for drinks waits quietly in the distance,
beckoning, inviting.
Guests have the dining options of
two private rooms and five semi-private
enclaves in which they can enjoy their
dinner in relative quiet, while the main
dining hall is bestowed with the view
and sound of softly bubbling water from
the utterly Zen Japanese stone receptacle.
to your liking or an assortment of
Edomae
sushi, amongst other accompaniments.
The restaurant comprises highly-trained
native Japanese wait staff and especially
adept and experienced chefs – clearly, they
do not compromise on the quality of their
food and service. The price range is as
premium as their food – an 8 course meal
can set you back around RM 300++, but
not many restaurants can successfully pull
off the experience and quality like Ten can.
