Stranded Abroad
It’s
always good to be vigilant of your surroundings, especially
when you are in a foreign land. Whilst being enticed by a street
performance, I had not noticed that my wallet and passport were
pickpocketed. The next few days were stressful and I had to miss
my flight home the next day, as I had to liaise with the embassy
for almost a week until they managed to replace my passport
with a new one, plus I did not have much money on me as all
my cash and credit cards were stolen!

Stomach Bug
Wanting
to be adventurous on my first trip abroad, I decided
to try out the local street food despite the questionable hygiene
of the stalls. Sadly, it proved to be too much for my stomach
to handle, as I ended up in the hospital for the rest of my trip!
Getting to the hospital was a real hassle as there was the language
barrier as well. Looks like I’ll stick to proper restaurants in my
next trip to come!

Hotel Horror
Unlike
the clean, modern room that was advertised, the hotel
we ended up staying in was reminiscent of those in horror films.
Old and worn out, the floorboards were squeaky, the curtains
and linen stained yellow, mould was growing around the toilet,
and worse of all, cockroaches and rats scurried about late at
night! Needless to say, we decided to burn our booking deposit
and checked out the very next day.

you’re travelling.
Runaway Luggage
I had
just gotten back from a trip and had to fly off for another
one the very next morning. The taxi I was on that droveme home
actually drove away with my luggage! As I had randomly hailed
the cab from the airport, I did not know which cab company
he was specifically from, so I had to frantically call each and
every one in order to locate the driver. I only managed to locate
him the next day after lots of phone calls, and sadly ended up
missing my trip.

Wrong Plane
Believe
it or not, I actually got on the wrong flight! I had been
directed to the wrong plane, where I had already boarded,
stowed my luggage, fastened my seatbelt and had a drink. The
plane was about to take off until they realised their error as our
names were being announced in the airport whilst we were on
the wrong plane. It was quite embarrassing, but thankfully we
managed to get on the right flight and headed to our intended
destination in the end.

Missed Flight
After
checking inmy luggage, I went on a short shopping spree
at the airport’s duty free shops and got carried away. However, I
did not realise that the passengers had already boarded the flight
I was supposed to be on, and I ended upmissingmy flight, whilst
being right in the airport! It turned out to be quite a disaster, as
I had to pay for a new flight ticket and my luggage ended up
missing for a few days!
