Tuk-Tuk, Thailand
Tuk-tuks
found in Thailand are open-air,
three-wheeled carriages attached to a motor-
cycle chassis. Drivers are fond of decorating
their rides with lights, colourful paint, and
dangling trinkets to get attention. The typical
capacity for a
tuk-tuk
in Thailand would be
two people, although you can quite often see a
whole lot more passengers on-board.
Tuk-tuk
,
which literally translates as cheap-cheap, is
a common mode of getting around by both
locals and tourists alike. While riding in a
tuk-tuk
can be described as a real adrenaline
rush rather than comfortable, taking at least
one ride is mandatory for a true Thailand
experience.
Beca, Malaysia
A
common mode of transportation
throughout Asia,
beca
or trishaws can
be found throughout Malaysia, but
they are most popular in the town of
Malacca. Used as a way to get around
back in the days,
becas
are now more
of a tourist attraction. The flamboyant
coloured
becas
are usually heavily
decorated with lights and flowers, plus
youwill be able to hear pop songs blast-
ing from the installed audio from far.
Riding the
beca
is a great way to check
out heritage spots and it brings you
back to the past before modern forms
of transportation gained popularity.
