Impromptu
The Job
My role in Firefly Airlines is to manage the company’s
resources. I am responsible for the planning, designing
and implementation of human resources initiatives and
programs to meet each stakeholder’s interests through
the company’s most valuable resources - our employees.
I am quite new to the airline industry, as I just joined
Firefly for less than two years, however, I have had over
18 years of HR experience with a few multinational
companies. I was very fortunate to have opportunities to
work and grow progressively with various industries, such
as in telecommunications, pharmaceutical, semiconductor
and oil and gas prior to joining Firefly. In my previous
role, I had a few opportunities to look after HR functions
for other countries such as Singapore, The Philippines,
Thailand and Vietnam.
It may be a very challenging job, but it is very interest-
ing. In the aviation industry, our company comprises
people from various functions; for example, the manage-
