[MM2H PROGRAMME]
Malaysia My Second Home Programme
or, MM2H in short, is a
programme offered by theGovernment ofMalaysia through theMinistry
of Tourism and Culture to foreign citizens who fulfil certain criteria to
long-stay inMalaysiaundera 10-yearSocial VisitPasswithMultipleEntry.
Since its inception in 2002 up to September 2014, the MM2H Pro-
gramme has attracted 26,611 foreign citizens from 123 countries with
the most number of participants from China, Japan, Bangladesh, United
Kingdom, Iran, Singapore, Taiwan, Pakistan, South Korea and India.
The MM2H Programme has also been recognised by International
Living.com, as the 3rd best retirement haven in the world after Ecuador
andPanama in2013and2014.TheLongStayFoundationof Japanhasalso
rankedMalaysiaas the topchoice longstaydestination for Japaneseaged
40 and above since 2006 to 2013.
Attractive LongStayProgramme
Currently, the MM2H Programme is the most
attractive long stay programme offered in the
world. Successful applicantsaregivena 10-year
SocialVisitPasswithMultipleEntry(MM2HPass).
Thismeanstheyhavetheflexibilitytodecidehow
oftentheywant tocomeandhow longtheywish
to stay inMalaysia.
Inaddition,aMM2Hparticipant,or,MM2Hom-
er can also bring in their parents (aged 60 years
and above) and children (aged below 21 years
old and not married) as their dependants. More
importantly, this MM2H Pass can be renewed
providedtheMM2Homerabidesbythetermsand
conditionsof theprogrammeandthe lawsof the
country. Anychangestothetermsandconditions
in the futurewill not affect existingparticipants.
With the MM2H Pass, foreign citizens can
use Malaysia as a base to conduct overseas
businesses, educate their children in private
schools, colleges and universities, invest in local
companieswithoutplayinganactiveorexecutive
role; or simply retire to enjoy a comfortable and
luxurious lifestyle inMalaysia!

The terms and conditions of the MM2H Pro-
grammeareverysimpleandeasytocomplywith.
Applicantsaredividedintotwocategoriesthatare
(1) those aged50years and above and (2) those
below50years old.
The Financial Requirements
for these two cat-
egories of applicants are as follows:
i)
Applicants aged50years and above
Showproofof liquidassetsofRM350,000
(US$104,244) and monthly off-shore
incomeof RM10,000 (US$2,978)
ii)
Applicants below50years
Showproofof liquidassetsofRM500,000

TERMS&CONDITIONSUPONAPPROVAL
Successful applicantswill be issuedaConditional
Approval Letter whereby they are required to
complywith the following requirementswithin a
6-monthperiod:
i)
OpenaFixedDepositAccount inMalaysia
Applicants aged50years and above:
-RM150,000 (US$44,676)
Applicants agedbelow50years:
-RM300,000 (US$89,352)
ii)
Submit aHealth Insurance
iii) Paytherequiredvisafee[RM90(US$27)
per year]
iv) Pay a Security Bond for direct applicant
[RM2,000 (US$596)]
INCENTIVES
MM2Homersareassuredthatall incomebrought
into Malaysia is tax free and they will only be
taxed on income earned in Malaysia. They can
also choose to stay in rented apartments or
houses as well as to buy freehold and leasehold
residential propertiesforownstayor investment
purposesprovidedthesepropertiesareabovethe
minimum ceiling price that has been set by the
respective states’ government. Generally, the
minimum ceiling price is between RM1,000,000
(US$297,841) to RM2,000,000 (US$595,682)
depending on the state where the residential
property is located.
MM2HCENTRE
The MM2H Centre is a one-stop centre under
theMinistryofTourismandCulture. All enquiries
as well as applications can be sent directly to
this centre. MM2H Centre also provides support
and advice to MM2Homers during their stay
in Malaysia especially with regards to matters
involvinggovernmentdepartmentsandagencies.
In addition, there is an Immigration Unit under
this centre where all successful applicants can
pay their visa fees to get the MM2H Social Visit
Pass, etc.
