hang out without bring-
ing a book along, The
LibraryCoffeeBar, located
at Avenue K has made
an impression on the
public. The coffee bar is
furnished like a library complete with
books, magazines, bookshelves and comfy
chairs. A cosy atmosphere with dim lights
and aesthetic looking walls are likely to
arouse envy for their photogenic set up.
Only using 100% organic coffee beans
and fair trade certified, The Library Coffee
Bar is not your typical, ordinary coffee
place. Even the baristas are dressed inwhite
shirts and vests. There are two levels to the
coffee bar – the lower one is brighter and
with more space for a lively atmosphere,
whereas the upper level has an actual bar
with bar stools, small armchairs in the
corners and couches for a more laid-back
feel.
The signature drink at the coffee bar, the
mocha espresso shake
priced at RM 16.50
is a bit on the high side as this concoction
consists of imported ice cream,
espresso and
mocha
. Strong, vivid and intense inflavour,
it is made to jolt the caffeine addict in you.
The coffee choices take up most of the
menu. However, for non-coffee drinkers,
choices of pure
double chocolate
and the
green tea caramel
ice blended are highly
recommended.
The food!
Patrons can also indulge in some of their
famous hot and coldwaffles selection. The

(hot), is accompanied

. The rings were fried to
perfection and the first bite of the
beef
pastrami waffle
seemed like a surprise ‘just
happened in your mouth’. The creaminess
fromthe butter on thewaffle complimented
the taste of the salad,
pastrami
and the
sunny side up egg.
The
banana waffle
(cold) on the other
hand is suitable for patrons who have a
sweet tooth as it is topped with pistachio
nuts, raisins, bananas, whipped creamand
drizzledwith chocolate sauce. The waffles
are priced at RM13.50 be it the hot or cold.
For salad lovers, what is recommend is
the
smoke salmon salad
. The ingredients
are a standard affair – romaine lettuce,
croutons, olives, tomatoes, salmon and
half boiled eggs with a Thousand Island
dressing. Priced at RM13.80, it is value for
money. The coffee bar also serves main
dishes. Their most requested is the
chicken
carbonara
with
Béchamel sauce
, priced at
RM 13.80.
For thosewho arewant some extra kick
in their coffee, there are some alcoholic
ones that you could order, hence the name,
coffee bar – get it?
Where is the Library Coffee Bar?
Located at Lot G8-B, Ground floor, Avenue
K, 156 Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, this
coffee bar is open from 8.30am till 11pm,
from Mondays to Thursdays and Sundays
and 8.30am till 12midnight on Fridays and
Saturdays.
